Joylene Green is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and has over 18 years of experience in the behavioral health field. Passionate about helping people grow and change, Joylene uses a caring and empathic relationship combined with scientifically researched approaches validated to help individuals, couples, and families reach their goals.
In addition to psychotherapy, Joylene provides training and consultation to community groups. An enthusiastic communicator, she has presented on topics including healthy body image, boundaries, stress management, conflict management, communication, and relationship skills.
Joylene Green has experience in a variety of treatment settings, including inpatient psychiatric hospitals, residential treatment centers, and community mental health. She established Family and Friends Counseling as a private practice counseling center in 2006 because she saw the need for high quality, confidential, personalized mental health care in Northwest Georgia.
Joylene Green has received focused training in Gottman marital therapy, family therapy interventions, treating past trauma and abuse, mindfulness, stress management, play therapy, art therapy, grief, and suicide prevention. Her specialties include but are not limited to treating relationship/marital problems, depression and anxiety, women’s issues, trauma, codependency, and addiction in the family.
